Why do we fundraise?

As parents we all want to provide our children with the best educational experience and learning opportunities.  As most of you know, not everything in our school is funded by School District 79.  The District works within a very tight budget and fund what they can however there are many things that aren’t covered.  Items like bussing to and from events during school hours, emergency backpacks for each classroom, the Library and its resources, cultural performances, support for lunch time clubs, portable music players, cameras, classroom support items, smart boards, projectors & extra computers are some of the items not covered by the School District.  In order to provide our students with these items fundraising becomes essential.   PAC fundraising throughout the year provides these necessary extras.

Our school and community has been extremely supportive and we have raised money to pay for many of the things you see around our school such as: our new play park (~$40,000 was raised), smart boards for the classrooms, projectors for the classrooms, filled the library with books, funds for school clubs and event and purchased instruments for the music room.

In accordance with the PAC budget for this year our fundraising goal is to raise $50,000.  These funds will purchase an emergency preparedness kit for the school, emergency backpacks for the new classrooms, classroom supplies, bussing to and from school events, portable music players, school spirit events,  library vision items, music, sports and club support, smart boards, parent support and educational opportunities to name a few.

This year your fundraising committee is made up of the following volunteers:
